QBS Equestrian Selects Catherine Tyree to Campaign Cantalupe V/D Holstenhoeve

Wellington, Fla. - April 22, 2021 - QBS Equestrian is thrilled to announce their newest partnership with Catherine Tyree, who will be taking the reins on the talented 6-year-old Belgium Warmblood gelding Cantalupe V/D Holstenhoeve. Founded by M. Michael Meller and Dennis Sisco, QBS Equestrian works to partner talented athletes with promising young horses to support the sport of show jumping.

Cantalupe V/D Holstenhoeve, known as “Melon” in the barn, is already impressing Tyree with his willing attitude and natural ability in the ring. Meller purchased Melon (Canaletto Z x Polarsterne Van De Richter) in May of 2019 after seeing the gelding compete in Europe. The entire QBS team is looking forward to watching Melon develop in the show jumping arena with Tyree.

Tyree is a lifelong equestrian originally from Chicago and began her riding career under the tutelage of Katie Kappler. In her final junior year, she began riding with Missy Clark and John Brennan of North Run, and it was there that Tyree’s riding career truly flourished. She is now a decorated international show jumping athlete based out of Wellington, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky, and has an impressive string of talented horses in her program. As a professional, Tyree’s focus is producing top results inside and outside the ring, and she looks forward to representing the United States in further international shows.

“I’m really excited to start working with Melon. I’ve ridden him a few times now and he has a lot of qualities that I think will make him successful,” expressed Tyree. “I am extremely humbled by Michael and Dennis’s belief in my riding to give me this opportunity and I cannot thank them enough for their trust in producing him.”

Meller commented, “I have always admired Cat’s composure in the ring. She is a soft and confident rider who works very hard to create a special relationship with each of her horses. I believe that her work ethic and attitude to allow a young horse develop correctly will help her succeed with Melon.”

As QBS Equestrian continues their mission to find and produce some of the world’s top young show jumping mounts, Meller and Sisco look forward to watching the progress of Tyree and Cantalupe V/D Holstenhoeve’s partnership
