North Salem, N.Y. - Sept. 19, 2017 - Each year, the American Gold Cup brings together the top athletes from show jumping and driving to showcase their skills throughout the world-class competition. Katherine Gallagher and M. Michael Meller of Gallagher/Meller Sport Horses are proud to support the exciting World Cup event. This year, in addition to his sponsorship of the competition, Meller presented the M. Michael Meller Style Award, donated in memory of Theresa Hogan, to Heather Caristo-Williams.
The M. Michael Meller Style of Riding Award is presented to the rider that exhibits the best combination of horsemanship, skill and presentation while competing. Graciously accepting the award, Caristo-Williams commented, "It's so special and I'm so thankful that Michael chose me. It's a really special award. It's so nice how he gives back and recognizes those who really are putting the effort out there. It's really quite a nice thing."
"Heather is a wonderful friend and athlete," expressed Meller. "She has dedicated her life to this sport and is always ringside to cheer on her fellow competitors and offer support. Heather has a natural way with the horses and it was wonderful to be able to present her with this award at such a special venue."
Meller continued, "The American Gold Cup at Old Salem Farm is a truly unique event bringing together some of the world's best athletes at a truly amazing location. The show organizers have done an incredible job. Katherine and I believe in supporting world-class competitions that showcase the best the sport has to offer."
As the season continues, Gallagher/Meller Sport Horses continue to support the industry by sponsoring awards at the National Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky. The mission of Gallagher/Meller Sport Horses is to find and produce some of the world's top young show jumping mounts.
