QBS Equestrian Congratulates 2019 GLEF Award Winners

Wellington, Fla. - Aug. 20, 2019 - M. Michael Meller and Dennis Sisco of QBS Equestrian have just returned from the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), where horses and athletes showcased their talents in the ring to bring home top prizes. Meller and Sisco are proud to support these talented  horses and be a part of their journey to the winner's circle.

Upperfield CH, an 11-year-old Swiss Warmblood mare owned by Grand Cru EQ Partners LLC, was consistent throughout the six-week horse show to capture the 1.30m Open Jumper Circuit Championship. Ridden by Michael Morrissey Jr., Upperfield CH won several events in both the 1.30m and 1.35m Open Jumpers to secure the tricolor honor.

"Upperfield is a really special mare," said Meller. "She's very careful and very brave. She gives one hundred percent every time she goes in the ring. It was exciting to watch her and Michael [Morrissey] compete each week because you knew they would be putting in a great round every time!"

Morrissey also competed with Sam 1091, a 10-year-old Rhinelander gelding, throughout the circuit for QBS Equestrian, capturing the second place honors in the $71,200 North Face Farm Grand Prix CSI2* with a double clear effort.

"Sam is a horse that is really stepping up nicely to the next level of the sport," explained Meller. "We have gone slowly developing him and it's paid off. He has all the scope and ability and we are excited to see the partnership being developed with Michael [Morrissey] in the saddle."

During the fifth week of the competition, Ali Wolff was named the winner of the 2019 M. Michael Meller Style of Riding Award, presented by QBS Equestrian, following the $133,700 Staller Grand Traverse Grand Prix CSI3*. The Style Award is presented each year to the international athlete  who exemplifies the best style of riding along with maintaining a sportsmanlike composure.

"Ali is one of the best athletes and best people on the circuit," said Meller. "She is so supportive of everyone and she is a true horseman. She appreciates and cares for each of her horses, which is so important. She is incredibly talented and it's always wonderful to watch her in the ring."

The team at QBS Equestrian is now gearing up for the 2019 fall show season. For more information about QBS Equestrian and their talented group of horses please visit www.qbsequestrian.com
